It's interesting how US firms are designing those buildings in other countries. Shanghai Tower is nice.
What?
I was responding to your un-edited post, which had completely opposite opinion.

Come on. Shanghai Tower and all those mega towers in Pudong are basically towers in the park on steroids. That's not the future. That's the past.
Checked out the glass yesterday, foggy, misty, dreary day. It's still much too reflective.
It may be the shortest on the site, but this is still a big building, bigger than Citigroup Center.
I think that the glass looks quite nice. I like this tower.
I'm trying to visualize it at 975 feet.
The thing that strikes me about this tower now that it's risen quite a bit is that it's much more slender than the renderings suggest. Also, the vertical groove is more prominent and interesting that the renderings suggested. I can't wait until the cut-away area starts.
I have no problem with the tower's mass. I knew how big it would be by comparing to 1 Liberty Plaza and adding 250 ft.
I was anticipating something more unique for the glass. It looks somewhat retro to me.
The only thing about the building I still like is the base, which I think is the best of all the towers.
If you're waiting for the cutaway, I have good (or maybe bad?) news. I believe, based on the pace of construction that it will happen around the end of october/beginning of november. There's a very tall floor right before it that might take a little longer.
What buildings are portrayed in Antinimby's post #1444.
those tumor riddled stacks are scheduled to be the first built at the hudson yards site.
