The slow shift of the terraces from right to left looks great.

Maybe they should at least make a law so that these new tall buildings with top-to-bottom blank concrete walls are all required to have the blank wall on the same side.
For instance: if you you are going to have a top-to-bottom blank wall, it must be placed on the north side.
This way, Manhattan would have a "good side" and a "bad side".
The local Community Board (CB4 - Manhattan) is showing some concern about this one and its kin ...

Seriously? And they don't worry about the 78% existing ugly building stock on 8th Ave.?
Maybe because, old "been-here-for-years" low n' ugly is more benign than brand new TALL n' ugly.
Is it best to replace old low n' ugly with brand new TALL n' ugly (complete with in-your-face "Fug You" croncrete walls)?
Maybe there are better alternatives.
