In the middle picture of #599 you can see the glassy finish on the column. All round columns are exposed in every apartment (at least for initial sale). That one looks pretty good.

I walked by the other day and talked to a couple of guys I was working with in the year prior to the restart. There have been a lot of issues with concrete and schedule but they are pushing ahead as best possible.

The reveals look good from street level; where most of us will only ever see them from.

Framing the 8th floor. Once they get past 10 or 11 this will grow much, much faster, more than 1 floor per week.

FYI, a lot of the frame supports still in place on the lower floors have to stay there for 90 days after pouring due to the cantilevers and temp loads from above. They should start to thin out soon.

Nice photos, thanks JohnFlint. Those convex curves on the exposed floor plates do not look any different than standard 'exposed floor plates' - the 'curve' is not "reading" , just not not quite visible to the casual viewer. I say that with great reluctance because I know great effort and ingenuity went into getting that 'curve' into the poured concrete form work: but now that it is done, it is obvious that this detail required much too much effort for way too little 'visual impact'.

The reveals will be much more evident when the building is stripped down of shoring and formwork.

I think the edges are essential to the design of this tower, even if they are subtle. They still register as curved. Without that little detail this tower becomes a lot more pedestrian. Worth every effort.

A stop-work order has been issued, according to New York YIMBY:

Funny, I drove by just today and remarked at the fact the site was dead (and at the same time how it looks good).

If commentators think the lower 10 floors were slow and complex I think the top ten floor construction will be downright petrifying.

I must reach out to a couple of people for more inside scoop.

Please do! I was informed that there have been major problems w the concrete contractor & they were fired - the search for a replacement may explain the current delay in addition to the stop-work order.
