One of the most thrilling events in New York for participants and spectators alike.
The 2002 NYC Marathon ran through 5 bridges and 5 boroughs starting with the Verazzano Narrows Bridge on Staten Island. Most of these pictures we're taken in Brooklyn. Once again, both the Mens and Womens races we're won by the Kenyans.

The race started off with Wheelchair racers first.
Talk about determination...
Then the top womens race began. Here we're the leaders at Mile 9.
