    Default Harlem River Point - 1951 Park Ave / 200 E 131st St

This is a large complex being built on a roughly trapezoidal plot bounded by Park Avenue on the west, E 131st St on the south, Harlem River Drive on the east and the inbound HRD on-ramp on the north.

Here is a view from the Harlem River looking northwest:

I've been driving by this for months wondering what it was. The renderings (and photos, which are nice!) don't do justice to just how large this building is. The smallest piece of this to the north is 11 stories tall, and the south side will be taller too. The building is coming out bland, but not terrible compared to anything else in the area.

It's an awkward site, sandwiched between the freeway and the railroad tracks. There used to be some sort of old welfare intake facility on the site. According to the City Land blog:

“Approximately 271 of the project’s apartments will be marketed to families earning up to 60 percent of the area median income, and the remaining units will be marketed to families earning between 90 and 100 percent of the area median income. The nearly 300,000 sq.ft. development will include 2,340 sq.ft. of commercial space and a 10,000 sq.ft. day care center. The project will feature sound-attenuating windows and acoustic walls along its perimeter in order to buffer noise from Harlem River Drive and a nearby elevated railway.”
