I keep seeing these elevated walkways in your pictures. *Is that a common occurrence in Shanghai, or is it just a fancy street crossing in a few areas?

Default Shanghai Streets -- 3

In New York, all the sidewalks are on ground level, so you rarely find yourself looking down at traffic, as I see in some of your pictures.

no, most sidewalks are not exactly on ground level, actually, they are above it

i took the pics on a late afternoon in autumn in xuhui district, shanghai. it's almost 4 month from now
