No tenant hence on hold.
As far as Im aware 20 times sq has not been approved, It is designed by SOM and is located at the port authority bus terminal in times sq. It is also situated in the 'new clump' which is the development area southwest of times square (the clump is 11 times sq, NYT tower & 20 times sq.) here are a few renderings

No tenant hence on hold.
So is has been approved but its on hold?
its approved and on cushman andwakefield website. they are advertsing it as availble to be built space, with up to 1.2 million square feet
The economy is picking up nowadays. As I said earlier, cities like Detroit and New York, who are more intimately linked to the economic health of the nation than most cities, as usually the first to endure a coming recession and usually the last to get out of it. When there's demand once more, then the PABT tower will be built. It'll be good for commuters from NJ and Pennsylvania (yes, they exist) whose only recourse is to take Port Authority.
Im looking forward to this 'clump' being built because the whole west side is growing into a rather satisfying 'forest' of modern architecture. In future the following buildings i am going to refer to as the Times-West developments; NYT Tower, 11 Times Square, 20 Times Square and any others that emerge later.
One major anchor tenant should do the trick. They should persue the same route... Cisco backed out, go for Intel!
or Hewlett Packard
You see, the great thing about projects like the Times-West developments is obvious but, the city is becoming lobsided, and so we are now in need of more development around the UN and Chrysler (which would be a good thing).
Good lord. I'm all in favor of more skyscrapers going up in manhattan, but why does every dang one have to be a big glass box nowadays? If the Chrystler Building's design was inspired by the grill of the automobile, couldn't and shouldn't this design be inspired somehow by the incredible mass transportation drama going on right underneath it? Is a little inspiration too much to ask for?
With SOM? Yes.
well its a nice glass box  ,
i like it its not really like a cube or anything....it has agles that are sharp and crisp
I also like the idea of covering that existing parking garage with electronic billboards...It will be a nice touch to that area and will bring more tourism on 42nd st and 8th avenue.
You know what, Times square is expanding massivley. Its no longer just at the broadway and 7th cross-over it is spreading out, a great gift for the advertising market.
That's what we thought of CIBC :?Originally Posted by fluffypolly
