Description
What to expect: Located in a residential neighborhood on the Upper East Side–with no surrounding skyscrapers–the Bentley draws mostly leisure travelers with its unobstructed views of the city, East River, and 59th Street Bridge. Witty decorative touches appear throughout the hotel, including a large stainless-steel “vase” sculpture, a mobile with scraps of paper reading “Have a nice day” in various languages, and room number signs embellished with tiny artificial flower bouquets.
Amenity highlights: A complimentary 24-hour espresso machine and a selection of magazines and newspapers are available in a cozy library adjacent to the lobby. The hotel also offers on-site parking and concierge services at the front desk.
Insider tip: Located in the East River between Manhattan and Queens, two-mile-long Roosevelt Island is home to a small town of about 8,000. The island includes a a farmhouse built in 1796 and a church and lighthouse dating from the late 1800s. Visitors can take a fun and scenic five-minute tram ride to the island via the aerial tramway at 59th Street and Second Avenue station, five blocks from the hotel.
